Devon L. Muhlert, B.Ed (Music), Certified Music Practitioner (CMP) is musician, writer, & award-winning photo-journalist. She started as stringer for local papers, measuring column inches to get paid a pittance. Later, over a 10-year period, she translated and occasionally wrote for The International Choral Bulletin, based in Belgium.
She was involved in music all along, starting in northern BC as an itinerant band teacher in different schools. She was the first female director in the north, a fact which no one noticed or cared about. After getting married and having two girls, the family moved to the Northwest Territories, where a son was born. Devon also taught band there, as well as founding a choir and teaching ESL high school completion.
Moving back to BC, they settled in the Okanagan Valley. Devon developed several different workshops, in photography (Light up Your Life) through Okanagan College, and in creativity. She facilitated many groups with music meditation, and others in writing. She gained her healing music diploma (CMP) from New York program Music for Transition & Healing in 2002.
Her music background includes being a Music Director for musicals, and for churches. She conducted over a dozen choirs in different localities, and she's also worked with about 15 editors for literary ventures. Her latest offering is Cadence of Colour: Sveva Caetani & her Mothers.
